Huddinge should be a secure place to live in – regardless of your needs and circumstances. The municipal care and nursing services should ensure that the elderly, for instance, are guaranteed sound and safe healthcare.
Freedom of choice
Care of the elderly should be characterised by the greatest freedom of choice possible regarding housing, nursing and home help provisions. People with disabilities receive the support they need to be able to live life as normally as possible. This means being able to live in an independent way, to have a job to go to and to feel secure against all forms of discrimination.
Social care
The municipality is also responsible for social care. This may mean providing financial support, counselling and support for those with substance abuse problems, or as a result of contact and preventative measures for children and young people endeavouring to counter psycho-social problems. The municipality is not responsible for health and medical care since this is the role of Stockholm County Council.
