A good life for all older people
If you are aged 65 or over you can get help from the municipality with things that you cannot manage on your own. You can get help with anything from household chores to your personal care. If the help you can get in your own home is not sufficient, you can apply to move into a home for the elderly.
The help is prescribed by law and should enable you to live a fulfilling life. The kind of assistance you receive depends on your specific needs and what help you get from those around you, for example from a family member. Married couples and couples living together must give each other a certain amount of practical help in the home if they can.
Our aim is for all older people to be offered good quality and dignified care. You should be able to live a secure and independent life, regardless of whether you live at home or in a home for the elderly.
Contact the Secretariat for Assistance to apply
When you apply for elderly care you always get to meet an assistance case worker to talk about your needs. You are welcome to contact the case workers at the Secretariat for Assistance if you would like to apply for elderly care, or if you want to find out more about what elderly care services we can offer. You can also ask a friend or relative to contact us.
